Anton Grace is a bright, dynamic pianist-vocalist,
who has been singing since early childhood, and who began his
instrumental education at age 10 with the clarinet. His
ear for harmony ushered him into co-directing duties for a 4-5
part
Slovenian vocal and dance music ensemble; from there he
went on to back-up vocals and playing drums and percussion for
a
Motown, Soul, and Rhythm & Blues review. And
since
1995, he has been carrying on professionally as a
solo
piano-vocal entertainer, beginning with
ten
years in Chicago, and rounding
up with
five years on the seas with
Carnival
and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
Highlight engagements include a year-long weekly run at the
Peacock’s Nest in the NBC Towers in downtown Chicago;
a two-year role as dance band leader and solo piano-vocalist
in Lincolnwood’s Radisson Hotel; and five years at the
ready-for-anything Hugo’s Frog Bar on Chicago’s
famous Rush Street strip. Finally he has enjoyed five years
working on 9 different ships in the Carnival and Royal Caribbean
cruise ship fleets, culminating with a tour on the then-largest
and most celebrated ship in the world, the RCCL Freedom of
the Seas.
Anton is an accomplished highly versatile performer, handling
the music of the Great American Songbook in a unique, light
jazz and swing informed, EZ-listening style; and also easily
capturing the sound and bright-energy spirit of the best popular
rock classics. In addition, he invites a bit of mystery-delving
as to his cultural heritage: he sings
in French, Spanish, Italian, German, and several other languages so convincingly, he is
regularly mistaken for being a native of each of those tongues. He
has thus far also released seven CD’s of original material
performing, arranging and producing, as well as composing the
music and writing the lyrics.
Whether your need is for well-chosen, sparkling background
music to animate and complement your room, or a full-on dance
and pop music celebration, Anton strikes the right chords for
you, your guests and your event and venue.
