Bruce Tilden was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. He started in church choirs at the age of eight. When he was thirteen he started to take voice and piano lessons. Soon he discovered the excitement of music and theatre where he performed lead roles in several plays and musicals.
He also has theatre training and this serves him well today as an excellent piano 'entertainer'.His talent was soon discovered by others. He won many awards in music and theatre in college as well as in high school.Bruce Tilden has received awards of merit for his contribution in music theatre.
A Bachelor of Arts in Music - Theatre Major - Winner of 1978 Britisch Columbia Talent Search After that Bruce's career got 'started'. Three years attending the Peter Breck Academy Of Arts, ongoing training in acting including film and television movies and commercials. In 1978 he has also recorded own album 'BRUCE TILDEN'S TOGETHER ENSEMBLE'.
He worked as a singer for several radio and television commercials, including a national commercial for EXPO'86 Vancouver, Britisch Columbia Cellular Telephone Company and Saskatchewan Tourism. He also worked as a soloist on a promotional video for the Niel Square Foundation and he performed the opening song for the Variety Club Telethon. Bruce Tilden even did four years ballet & jazz dancing (may be this gives his walk a little extra 'grace').
Bruce performed solo on the album 'A Christmas Wish' for the Vancouver Children's Hospital. In 1992 he performed six months at EXPO'92 Seville in Spain, representing Vancouver and Canada. He also performed for six months on 'Princess Cruises' (the Love Boat) in his own band 'The Bruce Tilden Quartet' or the 'B.T.Q.'.
In all Bruce Tilden has 22 years experience performing in piano bars across Canada, including two concerts where Bruce was the star performer, two revue shows as a performer and musical arranger and director. Lately Bruce Tildon discovered Europe. His first engagements in Ireland and Holland were extremely successful, and the re-engagements are 'flying in'. The posters are already hanging and he does not need any more introduction: 'ATTENTION BRUCE TILDEN IS BACK IN TOWN' is enough. |
